FAQ

This page is intended to provide some general information and frequently asked questions (FAQ's) to hopefully guide our families in making the site and our league as helpful as possible.  Feel free to use the email address at the bottom of every page to contact us if you have any additional questions or comments.

We are new to Little League.  When are games?  How many games are there?  How much does it cost?
The cost for FLL in Spring 2024 is $95 for Tee Ball and Machine Pitch, $120 for Minors and Majors, and $140 for Intermediate, Junior, and Senior League.  Most of the divisions will begin on or around opening day of April 13th, 2024.  You can expect one game opening weekend and then an average of 2 games per week through early-mid June.  We usually try to schedule 14-15 games with the understanding there may be weather cancellations and hopefully get in the minimum of 12 games.

When can I register, and when is opening day?
For Spring 2024, opening day will be Saturday, April 13th, 2024.  Registrations will begin in January.

The easiest way to register is on this website, and when registration is available you will be able to select the available leagues/divisions for your child.

What information do I need to register?
You will need basic personal information about the player and parent/guardian, including contact information, home address, shirt and hat size, allergy and other health insurance information, etc.  Residency information will also be needed for divisions that have all-stars.

What are the residency requirements and what information is needed?
Divisions that have All-Stars (Pitching Machine, Minors, Majors, Intermediate) will be required to submit proof of residency. Residence shall be established and supported by documents showing the full residence which includes parent(s) or guardian(s) name, street address, city, state and zip code information, dated or in force between February 1 of the previous year and February 1 of the current year, from one or more documents from EACH of the three groups of documents.  See the Little League Residency Checklist for more information, and here is a quick guide:

Group 1 - Driver's license, school records, vehicle records, employment records, insurance documents
Group 2- Welfare/child care records, federal records, State records, Local/municipal records, support payment records, homeowner, or military records
Group 3 - Voter's registration, Utility bills, Financial records, Medical records, or Internet, cable, or satellite records

If you do not reside in the FLL boundaries but the child attends school within the boundaries (for example, St. Francis de Sales or Stepping Stones) you may provide a document indicating enrollment for the current academic year.  This includes the School Enrollment Form or an official/certified enrollment record from the school that includes the signature of the school's senior administrator.

How do I know if I live in the boundaries of Fruitland Little League? The Little League Finder is the best tool for finding out which little league boundary contains your home or school.  You can also find this information on the District 8 Website, and look for boundary maps.

What are the full residence and school eligibility requirements?Little League's website has the Residence Eligibility Requirements website as a guide on all the requirements we must adhere to for playing in the league.

What division should my child play in?
The Little League Age Determination website can be used to find out the "Little League Age" of your child.  The age determination date is the actual age of the child on August 31 of the current year.  There is a printable 2024 Little League Age Chart that can be used as a reference as well.

Our online registration identifies the available divisions automatically based on your child's age, but here's the general guidelines:

Tee Ball (Coach Pitch) - Ages 4-6*
Machine Pitch - Ages 6-8*
Minor - Ages 9-10
Major - Ages 11-12
Intermediate - Ages 12-13
Junior - Ages 13-14
Senior - Ages 13-16

*Note - League Age 6 players could play either, and is generally decided by experience.  A 6 year-old who has never played before may want to play in tee ball (coach pitch) where a 6 year-old who has played two years in Tee Ball may want to move up to Pitching Machine.

Any special requests to 'play up' or 'play down' will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  Please understand that All-Stars are selected from the pool of players who played in that division.  For example, a player who is the league age to play in Minors, but 'plays up' in Majors, would not be eligible to be selected for the Minors All-Star team.

The number of registrations for Intermediate and Junior league fluctuate each year, and are subject to be combined together, or combined with other leagues.

How do I sign up for email alerts from the league? The easiest way is to click the Register button on our website.  Even if you are not registering a child to play, you can register for our site and follow the instructions to enter your email address to be added.
